With a tense undercurrent and an immersive story, The Other Girl is completely gripping and atmospheric. The Other Girl's cover and blurb intrigued me, but I had never read anything by Erica Spindler before so I wasn't sure the book would suit me.

I found it to be very well plotted and entertaining. An edited more country version of the song called "The Other Girl [The Other Mix]" was released as a single to radio on April 20, 2020. I can’t recommend this book enough. The story is set in New Zealand in 1942 at the Seaview Asylum just after a fire burned down one of the wings killing 37 women.
