That’s an hallmark of You can say “thank you, but not now” or “not now, not like that, I need time and space”.The male narrator (whom I believe is the author himself Douglas Stone) might have a good speaking voice, warm and soothing.I struggled to understand him and cheered every time the woman started speaking instead (whom I believe is the author herself Sheila Heen).And then I realized it was from the same writers of Douglas Stone and Sheila Heen write are some of the best authors out there.For example, they say they don’t know enough about the brain, which is exactly what knowledgeable people do. Feedback, regardless of how it’s given, can threaten the notion that we are okay the way we are—and thus receiving it can be challenging and can trigger us in a variety of ways. A guide to taking the bad feedback with the good and learning from what we're told. With a more resilient identity we don’t have to accept the feedback in any case, but at least we can look at it rationally (and give ourselves a chance at growing).Some feedback might not be useful or it might not be motivated by a real willingness to help.Also watch out for relationship partners who tell you that you are the only one who has to change.
